A Message From Susan

As my web designer was helping me design my website, one of the first questions she asked was what was my target audience. This may sound a little crazy, but my target audience is really everyone 18 years old and older. Everyone needs some form of estate planning. You can be a young couple just starting out with young kids. You can be a blended family working on your third spouse with as many stepchildren. You can be a retiree. You can be a single mom or dad. You can be a business owner. You can be an individual caring for aging parents. You can be the aging parents. You can even be a dog owner who wants to make sure someone looks after your best friend. I have 15 years of experience working with banks of all sizes in trust and estate administration, as well as investment management. I decided to open my own practice, and here I am.

My son asked me when he was about four years old why I went to work every day and left him. Not to bore a young child with the financials, I just said I went to work every day to help people. Surprisingly, the next week he came home with a sheet from preschool that he had been asked to fill out. It was simple stuff, like your name, address, etc., but one of the questions was, “What is your Mommy’s job?” His answer, “She helps people.” Every situation is different.
